One day after Larry King announced his retirement from CNN, his mother-in-law is optimistic about his future.
In a statement Tuesday, the veteran talk show host announced he was stepping down from his 25-year reign on Larry King Live.
“I talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I would like to end Larry King Live, the nightly show, this fall and CNN has graciously accepted, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids little league games,” he said.
Larry and his wife, Shawn, filed for divorce in April after news surfaced that they both had affairs. A few weeks later, the couple, who have two boys-- 10-year-old Cannon and 11-year-old Chance-- reconciled. During the Memorial Day weekend, the 50-year-old suffered from an overdose of prescription drugs at her home in Utah.
